The Creek Church

About

Our Story

The Creek Church was founded in 1861 as Hawk Creek Baptist Church. For 144 years the church existed as a small community church, serving those living in and near the Hawk Creek area of Laurel County, Kentucky. 45 people were attending weekly in 2005 when God began a new work through our Lead Pastor, Trevor Barton. Today, over 1,500 people attend our campuses weekly and over 1,100 people have been baptized since 2005.

OUR MISSION

LOVE GOD. LOVE PEOPLE. MAKE DISCIPLES.

Our Vision

To be a church that people who don't like church love to attend.

Core Values

we believe...

WE CAN'T STAY HERE

BRIDGES ARE BETTER THAN BARRIERS

GENEROSITY CHANGES LIVES

"WE" IS GREATER THAN "ME"

IT'S BETTER TO SERVE THAN BE SERVED

EVERYONE CAN REACH SOMEONE

Our Lead Pastor

Trevor Barton

Trevor is a gifted leader and communicator with a passion for reaching those marginalized and discouraged by religion. Under his leadership The Creek has grown from a small community fellowship to an outwardly focused ministry that God is using to change lives.

Trevor, his wife Allison, and their two sons, Shepherd and Greyson, live in London, Kentucky.

Kids

We think it’s tragic for children to dislike church because of boring, mediocre children’s programs. That’s why we’ve created safe, age-appropriate kids environments where your children can learn about God in ways they will love!
