DESCRIPTION

The existence of God gives us hope. When the people of the Kingdom of Judah faced exile in Babylon, God promised them a reason to hope on the other side of their suffering.

QUESTIONS

1. Do you agree that faith gives life to hope? Do you think there can be hope apart from faith? Why or why not?

2. Why is the context of the classic Christmas verses in Isaiah 9 important when we think about God’s promise to send a savior?

3. God gave the Israelites a reason to hope, even though they were going through a time of suffering that felt final and irreversible. Why do you think He chose to do that? How do you think that changed things for the people who were suffering?

4. Every promise God makes, God keeps. How does that statement give you hope during this season of your life?
