Pastor Search Team Announcement:

To all of our Creek Church family.  We have an exciting update on our pastor search process!

Over the past few months, our Pastor Search Team has been prayerfully and diligently working through the selection process. We’ve met with candidates, conducted interviews, and sought wisdom from trusted leaders. Through this journey, we’ve seen God’s hand guiding us, and we are grateful for your prayers and support.

We’re now at a significant milestone: our team has unanimously agreed on a candidate and will be presenting our recommendation to the church board. The board will prayerfully review and discern the next steps as we move closer to finding our next Lead Pastor for our church.

While we aren’t quite at the finish line yet, we are encouraged by what God is doing. Please continue to pray for wisdom, clarity, and unity in this next phase. We’ll share more updates soon!

Thank you for your continued prayers and trust in this process. God is leading, and we are excited for what’s ahead!

Financial Update:

The Executive Board of our church would like to take a moment to update you on our financial audit process.

As many of you know, we have been undergoing our first-ever full financial audit—a significant step in ensuring transparency, accountability, and strong financial stewardship for our church. We initially anticipated a smoother and more timely completion of this audit.  Since this is our first audit, our auditors are carefully reviewing historical records, ensuring all financial processes meet best practices, and helping us strengthen our financial systems for the future. This level of detail takes more time, but it’s an investment that will ultimately serve our church well and ensure that we are handling our resources with the highest level of integrity.

We appreciate your patience and prayers as we work diligently through this process. Our commitment remains to honor God with wise financial stewardship, and we look forward to sharing the results once the audit is complete.

Thank you for your support and trust—we’ll keep you updated as we progress!

Governing Documents:

We have an update you on an important step in strengthening the governance of our church.

Over the past several months, our leadership team has been working diligently on the review and adoption of amended bylaws. This process has included thorough evaluation by multiple law firms, ensuring alignment with our Articles of Incorporation and best practices for church governance.

We are now in the final stage of adoption, and we’re excited to be nearing completion. These updates will help provide greater clarity, accountability, and alignment with our mission as we continue moving forward. We anticipate this process to be at completion by the end of the month.

Thank you for your prayers, patience, and trust throughout this process. We’ll share the final details soon, and we’re grateful for God’s guidance every step of the way!

Pastor Search Team Update:

We are excited to share an update on the progress of our pastoral search process. With prayerful consideration and a commitment to seeking God’s direction, the Pastoral Search Team has been diligently working to find the next Lead Pastor for our church. Here’s where we stand:

Completion of the Lead Pastor Job Description

We have finalized the Lead Pastor Job Description document, which outlines the key qualifications, responsibilities, and vision for this role. This foundational step ensures we have a clear framework to guide the selection process and communicate our church’s needs and mission to potential candidates.

Candidate Review Process

At this time, we have narrowed the search to four candidates who have advanced to this stage. Each candidate has:

• Submitted a detailed application, resume, and questionnaire.

• Provided sermon videos that have been evaluated by the team.

We are carefully reviewing their submissions and assessing how their gifts, experience, and vision align with our church’s mission and values.

Next Steps

The team is continuing to prayerfully evaluate each candidate and is currently scheduling interviews. These conversations will allow us to gain deeper insights into their leadership style, theological perspectives, and vision for ministry.

We will continue receiving potential candidates as we continue to seek God’s direction in finding our Lead Pastor.

This process will take some time. It may take a while to find our pastor.

We remain committed to transparency and thoroughness throughout this process. Most importantly, we are seeking God’s guidance in every decision and trusting Him to provide the right leader for this next season of our church.

We ask for your continued prayers as we move forward.

Thank you for your faithfulness and support. We look forward to providing another update as we progress further in this important process.

Thank you

Michal Davidson, Chris Deaton, Todd Hopper, Amy Hostettler, Jim Huffman, Kriston Jervis, Bob Lincks, Kevin Lowrie, Tim Sparkman, Jack Willis

Bylaws Update

The churches governing bylaws & documents are currently in review by several attorneys. We look forward to reviewing the recommendations and considerations that will be provided, making adjustments and amendments as needed. We expect those very soon.

Financial Update

Our financial bookkeeping and bank reconciliation have been administered by a reputable accounting firm, Carr, Riggs & Ingram (CRI) for over five years.  CRI is a Top 25 nationally-ranked accounting and advisory firm with locations in 12 states, serving over 100,000 clients in all 50 states. We are confident in their expertise and thankful to have them professionally serving our church. If you would like to learn more about CRI, you can view their fact sheet at the link below.

CRI fact sheet

Our current financial condition and statements have been reviewed and we have no cause for concern. As the Board stated previously, we are in the process of a financial audit. This is a routine audit that is called for by our church organizational Bylaws to occur every three years. We believe the audit will help us improve church financial policies, procedures, and systems as well as provide the church with assurance of our financial well-being. The audit process has started and it is estimated to be completed by February of 2025..

Pastor Search Update

The pastor search team has been formed and is working towards finding our next lead pastor. The team will be expanding and asking Creekers to join them with this incredible task to find our next leader. Once those assignments are accepted, they will be updated and posted here. We want to ask you to join us in praying for our church, our search process, and our next pastor. We believe that better days are ahead.
